Today we are celebrating Mickey Mouse’s birthday! We’ve created a simple 5-step guide so you can have a go at drawing everyone’s favourite Disney character 🐭.
What you will need:
Noris colour pencils in Red, Black and Yellow
1 x Noris HB pencil
1 x Noris Eraser
1 x Pigment Liner, 0.3mm line width
A4 White Paper
Optional: A ruler
Take your Noris HB pencil and start drawing a rough outline of Mickey. Don’t be afraid to erase mistakes and keep going until the proportions of the head, ears and body are right. This will make things much easier once you start adding more detail.
Once you are happy with the basic shape of Mickey, start adding detail onto the face and body. Draw over existing lines to create his shorts and shoes.
Tip: You may find it easier to use a ruler and make a line where Mickey’s eyes need to go. This will ensure his eyes are level.
Start drawing the hands. Often described as one of the most difficult things to draw, take time over the shape and angle so they look in proportion. Once you have done this, draw on a tail and outline the sketch again, getting rid of unwanted marks with your Noris eraser.
Now you are ready to colour!
Take your colouring pencils and use more pressure around the outside of each space to create a 3D effect.
We decided to use a pigment liner pen to make the drawing stand out even more. Take time in following the outline so Mickey looks nice and neat.
And there you have it – Your very own Mickey Mouse drawing!
We’d love to see your designs! You could try experimenting with this guide by drawing Minnie Mouse, too! 😃
