For October’s #MonthlyMake competition we are challenging you to create your own spooky Halloween mask! 👻

Here’s a short ‘how-to’ guide on how to make our mask if you need a little bit of inspiration!

What you will need

  • 1 x 125g block FIMO air light
  • A bowl e.g. cereal bowl
  • Ceramic tile
  • 1 x FIMO kids Black (8030-9)
  • 1 x FIMO kids Yellow (8030-1)
  • A rolling pin
  • Pencil
  • Cutlery knife
  • Short length of elastic or string
  • Bottle of glue

Step one

Using your hands, mould a whole block of FIMO air light over an up-turned bowl. Use your cutlery knife to make two medium-sized holes for eyes and use a pencil to make two holes in the side for elastic.

Leave the mask to dry for 24 hours or pop it in the microwave for 10 minutes according to the pack instructions.

Step two

Meanwhile, work on a ceramic tile and cut one portion of FIMO kids black (use your rolling pin to make the piece a bit thinner). Then use your knife to cut it into four squares.

Step three

Do the same using FIMO kids yellow, but mould these into more of a tooth-like shape.

Press the yellow teeth on top of the black (the FIMO will stick to itself!) and repeat this process until you have enough teeth.

Step four

Roll and squish two small chunks of FIMO kids black for nostrils. Bake the teeth and nostrils on the ceramic tile in an oven for 30 minutes at 110°C / 230°F.

Once cool, glue onto your mask as in the picture.

Step five

Thread elastic through the holes in the side and your mask is ready for ‘Trick or Treating’!
